Daniel Coyle was jailed for four years in July 2012 but had his jail term suspended to allow him to do 240 hours community service.

However, Mr Coyle of Clar, Redcastle, appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court having failed to complete all of his community service time.

Defence barrister Peter Nolan said he will have medical evidence showing why Mr Coyle cannot complete the rest of the community service.

He also said there was psychological issues with his client which he will also inform the court of.

Mr Nolan also revealed that Coyle's house had recently been fire-bombed in an attack.

In 2012, Coyle, now 31, pleaded guilty to the charge which arose out of a road traffic at Clar, Redcastle on April 19th, 2009 in which another man, Hugh Donegan was killed.

Having heard submissions in the case, Judge John O'Hagan adjourned the case until next Tuesday to hear medical reports before deciding what to do in the case.
