A 32 year old Falcarragh man who called Gardai 'bastards' and refused to leave the scene of an incident has been fined €200.
Tommy Rodgers, of 33 Ballina, Falcarragh, appeared at Letterkenny District Court today.
He was charged with failing to comply with the directions of the Gardai and being intoxicated.
The court heard how a friend of the accused man had been set upon by other men at Main Street, Falcarragh.
Gardai arrived and an altercation ensued after Gardai told Rodgers to move on from the area.
He refused and told Gardai that he knew the law but was subsequently arrested.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said his client had been off the drink for many years but had turned from working in the UK and had fallen off the wagon.
The court heard the accused has 27 previous convictions and is currently working in England here he earns up to £450 sterling.
Judge Paul Kelly fined the accused €200.
