A Letterkenny man who is in custody after more than a year on the run appeared in court today charge with a range of offences including theft, public order and assault.
Jason Haughey, of 5 Rosemount, appeared via video link at Letterkenny District Court wearing a Man Utd football shirt.
Haughey, 25, who was detained by Gardai in Carndonagh last month, is currently in custody and will appear before Letterkenny Circuit Court in December.
Solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher asked Judge Conall Gibbons to adjourn all matters to Thursday, September 3.
The charges before the court were threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour, intoxication and obstruction at Oldtown Road, Letterkenny on March 13, 2012; failing to appear in court on March 26, 2012; two counts of assaults, unlawful possession of drugs and resisting a peace officer in the execution of his duty at Letterkenny Garda Station on February 4, 2013 and handling stolen property at 10 Cloncool Park, Buncrana on February 2, 2014.
Granting the application Judge Gibbons adjourned the matter to September 4 when it will be decided which charges will be dealt by district and circuit court.
