A woman from Donegal appeared in court last night in connection to an anti-lockdown protest in Dublin.

Lilliana Laxley, aged 20, of Altaskin, St Johnston was one of ten people who were brought before a special sitting of Dublin District Court on charges in relation to events that took place in the city centre on Saturday.

RTE News reports that Laxley was charged with failing to give her name and address when required by a garda.

Gardaí are investigating the organisers of the protest, which took place across Phoenix Park along the North Quays to the GPO, O’Connell Street and then back along the South Quays.

Approximately 300 uniform and plain clothes members of An Garda Síochána monitored the event and eleven people were arrested over the course of the afternoon.

All of the accused who appeared in court yesterday were granted bail on condition they obey the Covid regulations, do not participate in unlawful assemblies, stay within the distance of their residence required by Covid regulations, be of good behaviour and attend court as required on 25th May.
