A man stripped naked, grabbed his penis and asked Gardai “is this what you’re were looking for?”

Dion Rowan was approached by Gardai in Ballybofey, Co Donegal after he called them “f***ing pigs” on May 6th last.

When they tried to interview the 20-year-old, he stripped off his clothes and went on a rant.

When searched at Donegal Road at around 11.25pm, Gardai found one valium tablet in Rowan’s pocket.

Rowan appeared at Letterkenny District Court where he pleaded guilty to a charge of using threatening and abusive language.

Solicitor for the accused man, Mr Frank Dorrian, said his client of 4 Hawthorn Close, Ballybofey, was a quiet, unassuming man who had no previous convictions.

However, he revealed that he had taken a number of valium tablets he had found in his home as he felt they would make him feel better.

“This is a learning curve for him and there will be no repeat of such behaviour or any other dalliances with such substances,” he said.

Judge Paul Kelly asked the accused if he had any problem with Gardai and Rowan replied “I’ve no problem. I was drunk and I can’t remember.”

Judge Kelly said that if the accused paid €200 to Planet Youth in Ballybofey, he would not leave Rowan with a criminal record.
